Sensitive data
“Sensitive data” normally means any information that bears an increased risk of harm to individuals or companies if exposed or misused. In that sense, it’s colloquial alongside “sensitive information”.
“Sensitive data” may also refer to:
- “Sensitive personal data” as defined in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
- “Sensitive authentication data”, one of the categories of payment data protected under the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).
